Pagasa: Heavy rainfall expected in Bicol, Visayas, Mindanao

Some parts of the country will still experience cloudy skies and some rain shower on Saturday due to the prevailing northeast monsoon and easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.

MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms may be expected in some areas in Bicol, Visayas and Mindanao due to a low pressure area (LPA), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In a bulletin issued at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Pagasa said the LPA could bring heavy rainfall in the Visayas and Bicol region.

Pagasa also said Mindanao, Calabarzon and Mimaropa will also experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The LPA was last seen at 150 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur with its tail-end affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. /atm
