GOAT POWER. In this Sept. 8, 2011, photo shows goats feeding on a deep pocket of brush, in Portland, Oregon. Deep in the Portland wilderness, invasive species rule. Blackberries, thistle, English ivy and rhododendron occupy deep pockets of brush, choking off native plants and growing into tangles too thick to navigate on foot. AURORA, Isabela-A suspected thief was killed while his alleged accomplice was wounded by a village watchman who shot them as they attempted to steal two goats at dawn on Thursday in Barangay (village) Divisoria here, police said.

Ceejay Vidal was shot dead by watchman Estanislao Duque who tried to stop four men from taking the goats owned by Jaime Asirit.

The four men rode off on motorcycles but Vidal and Anescon Alcon were cornered by Duque and fellow watchmen who gave chase.

The suspects allegedly fired first at the watchmen, prompting Duque to retaliate, killing Vidal and injuring Alcon.

The two other suspects, John Rich Dela Peña and Edwin Asuncion, escaped with one of the goats.
