A member of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) was shot dead Thursday in Pasig City.
PO2 Manuel Melendrez was shot multiple times by an identified gunman, CIDG head Chief Supt. Amador Corpus said in a phone interview on Friday.
The suspect reportedly opened fire at the victim just as he was about to enter his house in Barangay Caniogan.
Police investigation on the incident is still ongoing. /kga
