The Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 125 has released a copy of their guilty verdict against the police officers involved in the killing of Kian delos Santos in August 2017.

In the 35-page decision, Judge Roldolfo Azucena Jr. convicted PO3 Arnel Oares, PO1 Jeremias Pereda and PO1 Jerwin Cruz for the murder of Delos Santos.  All three will serve a sentence of reclusion perpetua or 30 years without eligibility of parole, aside from paying damages to the family.

Police said that Delos Santos was killed during an anti-drug operation, after he allegedly resisted arrest and opened fire.  Camera footages, however, showed that the teenager was dragged by officers before being shot./jpv
