Manicad seeks to bridge gap between media, gov’t policies

As a former journalist, Jiggy Manicad aims to fill the gap between media coverage and government policy actions if elected as senator.

Manicad on Wednesday said that as a journalist, he saw the limitations of media as a form of public service.

“Nakita ko yung limitations sa media na pwede nating i-expose (yung issues) but whether yung government a-action sa pamamagitan ng policies, hindi natin nakikita yun,” Manicad said in an interview before he filed his certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections.

“So I guess yung policy level na yun, yung gap na yun, yun ang nais kong punuan,” Manicad added.

Manicad is running as an independent candidate.

He served as a reporter of GMA News for years and became a news anchor for one of the programs of the network. /cbb
