Quezon bust yields shabu worth P275,500

A Korean national wanted for various crimes was captured by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Taguig City last week, the bureau said on Friday.

LUCENA CITY – Police seized an estimated 150 grams of shabu and arrested a suspected pusher in a buy bust operation in Atimonan town in Quezon province on Thursday.

Anti-narcotics operatives nabbed Samjay Baluyot after he sold the shabu to an undercover police officer during the bust in Barangay (village) Caridad Ibaba at around 10:45 a.m.

According to Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police chief, Baluyot was nabbed after he gave the undercover officer a plastic sachet containing shabu worth P18,000.

Three more sachets containing shabu were seized from Baluyot, police said. The shabu seized from Baluyot are worth at least P275,500 based on a Dangerous Drugs Board valuation.

Police added that with a gram of shabu now worth P5,000 in the streets, the shabu seized from Baluyot could easily fetch P750,000.  /muf
