Ex-NPA leader held for murder, homicide

A Korean national wanted for various crimes was captured by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Taguig City last week, the bureau said on Friday.

CAMP OLIVAS, PAMPANGA — A former leader of the New People’s Army in Central Luzon was captured in Tarlac for two criminal cases in Pampanga.

The manhunt for Jose Jackson Carmen, also known as Ka Roman and Masong, ended on June 27 in Barangay (village) Pedro Quines at Mayantoc town in Tarlac province, according to Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, regional police director.

The police described Carmen, 42, as a former platoon commanding officer and head of the Pampanga intelligence unit of the Central Luzon Regional Committee.
