If he were to have his way, President Duterte would rather not take long-haul flights as he hates traveling, or so he says.

In a speech in Sta. Rosa City before elected barangay captains in Southern Luzon, Mr. Duterte said that at his age—73—he could no longer bear to sit for excessively long periods during flights.

“I, at my age, cannot manage a long-haul flight—13 hours, 16 hours, I’d die from that. That’s why I don’t want to [take long flights] anymore,” the President said on Thursday.—JULIE M. AURELIO
